The Sweet Taste of Blessings: A Reflection on Gratitude

Life is filled with small moments that often go unnoticed, yet they carry deep meaning when we take a moment to pause and reflect.
Today, I was reminded of one such blessing in the simplest way—through a bottle of Martinelli’s apple juice.

Martinelli’s was my favorite drink.
I remember how much I used to love it, especially when I was living in Saudi Arabia and couldn’t find it anywhere. It wasn’t just about the taste—it was the feeling of comfort, nostalgia, and joy that came with it.
Every time I came back home and visited the U.S., I'd make it a point to get some.
My wife knew how much I loved it too, and she'd buy it for me even before I asked.
That small gesture always warmed my heart.
Now that I moved back to the U.S., I realized how easily I can walk into a store and pick it up without thinking twice.
Something that once felt like a rare treat is now just within reach.
And that made me pause and reflect.
How often do we overlook the everyday blessings in our lives simply because they’ve become routine?
This moment of gratitude reminded me of a powerful verse from the Qur’an:
“If you tried to count Allah’s blessings, you would never be able to count them. Surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
— Surah An-Nahl (16:18)
This verse resonates deeply with me.
From the air we breathe to the little joys like our favorite drink, Allah’s blessings are countless.
Sometimes, it takes a memory or a moment of reflection to recognize them again.
I’m feeling super blessed and grateful to Allah for all the big and small gifts He continues to bestow.
Let’s not forget to pause, reflect and acknowledge – say Alhamdulillah (Thank You GOD) for even the tiniest things.
Alhamdulillah for Martinelli’s, for beautiful memories, for love, and for gratitude.
